I am profoundly grateful for time spent in the wilderness, processing years of my life and relationships on dirt trails. So many of those miles are responsible for my love and passion for people and my career as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and wilderness guide.

Gratitude and empathy are the heart of my life and my professional practice as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and wilderness guide. In a posture of gratitude, all things are possible, and it is from this place where we thrive.

I am dedicated to meaningful connections, both with self and with others, and I am inspired by the power we each possess to heal and grow.

Dee has been supervising both MFTC and LPCC psychotherapists and Practicum and Internship students at Regis University since 2015. In addition to being an Approved Clinical Supervisor, she has extensively studied neuroscience and the interpersonal neurobiology of psychotherapy, which allows therapists to understand more about the workings of the brain and how that applies to therapy sessions.

*Dee is a supervisor, not a practitioner at Evolve In Nature, so she does not see clients.

In my life, the outdoors have always been a welcoming place of contemplation and tranquility. Nature has served me as both the teacher and the container. The lessons I have learned through time spent outdoors have been some of the most important in my life. Even when sessions are indoors I look to replicate the stillness, comfort, and spaciousness that nature provides. Nature directs us to experience sensation, notice natural rhythms, and hold larger perspectives, showing us the path to healing. In returning to nature, we can learn how to return to ourselves and our bodies.

Radical acceptance and meaningful connection are the backbones of my life and practice. I firmly believe each of us owns unique parts of ourselves that not only make us different but also make us capable. Sometimes a tree must twist and bend to reach the light it needs; just because its growth looks different doesn’t mean it’s not still growing. As a psychotherapist, my humor and curiosity are what help me reach the light I need.

I am so glad you are here. It is incredibly brave to take this step toward connecting with others in a way that will inevitably ask a lot of you. Therapy requires you to be raw and vulnerable. I believe in creating a space that allows for the comfortable and uncomfortable parts of processing, leading to personal and mutual growth.

Sometimes life can feel fast-paced, oppressive, and overwhelming.  Nature reminds us that we have access to our own internal resilience, peace, and wisdom. My passion lies in helping individuals navigate the terrain on their unique path to personal growth, self-discovery, and healing. Stress, anxiety, and fear are just some of the feelings that can make us feel stuck, disconnected, or lost. However, the empowering truth is that they don’t have to define us. Together, let’s embark on a transformative journey where we explore these emotions as powerful catalysts for change.

Water is an incredible resource and teacher in my life. It has taught lessons of change and adaptation, learning how to work with obstacles with flexibility. I have watched how particles settle when water is still and clear, and when it is turbulent it becomes murky. I have learned how to relax and surrender and let it hold me. And I have been humbled by its force. Most importantly I have learned acceptance, like the quote from Jon Kabat-Zinn I can’t make the waves stop but I can learn how to ride them.

Clinical office manager

she, her, hers

After a 20-year career in business, I decided to pursue a degree in Clinical Mental Health. Counseling has made an immeasurable impact on my health, well-being, and relationships, which is why I am so drawn to this field. In particular, nature-based therapy has been a conduit for incredible healing for me.

I feel very fortunate to begin this journey at Evolve in Nature as the clinical office manager. As I pursue my degree I have the opportunity to utilize my business skills in support of the amazing therapists and clients here.

I love spending time outdoors, am a voracious reader, and enjoy the challenge of learning something new!
